I am a licensed Architect living in San Francisco, and have nearly 20 years experience in the field. I have been involved with a wide variety of projects, primarily in urban settings. Projects have included mixed use, affordable housing, senior housing, retail, and single family homes. The work has ranged from large scale urban design to tenant improvements, from new buildings to adaptive re-use. I am LEED Accredited, and have always been committed to sustainable community building.
I offer a range of design services, including architectural design consultation and code review, as well as web design and free-lance writing.
This is a summary of what I was up to in 2009:
- Consulted on a couple of mixed use projects. This has included code review and design consultation.
- Have been engaged to design 2 websites. These are chronicled on the web design page.
- I have been writing a blog, which you can check out here: www.robco62.wordpress.com.
- Completed a Fundamentals Revit Training course.
- I am a member of the Compact Development Review Board at the Greenbelt Alliance. This work includes writing endorsements of projects, and testifying at public hearings.
- I have been helping out at the San Francisco Planning Department, working on their digital survey of historic buildings (also known as CHRID).
- Am a founding member and officer of the IMPACT Toastmasters Group, a group whose mission is to improve communication skills for those affected by the current economic downturn.
- Periodic volunteering at community non-profits in my neighborhood, including Project Open Hand, Glide Church, and St. Anthony's Emergency Assistance Program.
- I still keep trying to find time to paint and draw, but alas, the schedule has kept me pretty busy.
